This youth production is concerned with the relationship of the individual performer to the past. Impressive for me beforehand was the experience with the pieces as dance greats of the past century and the young performers. The models frequently remain far removed like ghosts and were not allowed to come near like possible ancestors. I wanted to trace this gap in ich geschichtet. Seven young women between 14 and 17 years old look back at their potential history, dance defining memories and sing the history they perceive as theirs packed into songs. In this way they create new identities and reveal what they think about younger and older generations. With dance, music, texts and projections, the performers layer events that moved people in previous decades. They explore the relationship they have with them and would like to have with them: are past and history exciting or annoying? What do they tell us? Was everything better before? How much fiction is there in history? And how much in me when I stand on the stage?
