Pimp Your Dance
is a piece for three female dancers and busies itself with the omnipresent demand to optimize: In this context the optimization of oneself, ones body, ones life. "I lost my balance!" is the point of departure for the three performers. It seems they fell out of a picture, and try to regain their balance by trying different strategies: physically, materially, collaborative and individually. What is left is the unconditional will to try over and over again. Despite the "up to date" subject, the piece, the dancers and the timing withdraw more and more. One is left with a melancholic finish and a distant gaze on the protagonists.

Lange's piece [...] is rather brittle and reduced, and emphasizes the un-striking and the un-pimped. Thus it cleverly avoids some of the obstacles on the chosen way. [...] When the dancers move staccato like, not going for the simple imitation of jogging and aerobics, and try to find a stable moment together, it is then that "Pimp Your Dance" convinces through its astringency and poetry.
